BANKS – Banks? Meet the Banks – the fictional children from 1964’s Mary Poppins have grown up and will be featured in the city of Banks this summer, as Disney’s sequel Mary Poppins Returns hits the screen at Greenville City Park on Friday, August 2.

Attendees are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

The show, which starts at dusk, or around 7 p.m., according to the city of Banks Facebook event, is a free event, and a continuation of this popular family event hosted annually by the city.

The film features Emily Blunt as the titular character, returning to serve as the famed whimsical nanny to a new generation of Banks (the family, not the town) children – and to help the original siblings navigate their grown-up responsibilities.

Joining Blunt are Lin-Manuel Miranda, playing Jack, a cockney lamplighter, Ben Whishaw as the now-grown Michael Banks, Emily Mortimer as the grown-up Jane Banks, with a still spry Dick Van Dyke returning to the franchise, at 93 years old when the film was released on December 19, 2018.

Greenville City Park is located on NW Arborpark Loop in Banks.
