Construction equipment hit by vandals, items stolen near Banks

BANKS – Construction equipment owned by Yamhill-based Luttrell’s Trucking & Excavation was vandalized and some items stolen between Friday, March 22 and Monday, March 25 on Stimson-owned land near NW Davidson Rd and NW Hawn Rd Northeast of Banks.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is looking for more information in the case, and the owner of Luttrell’s Trucking & Excavation is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, most of the damage was done to an excavator parked alongside a logging road between Friday, March 22 and Monday, March 25. The owner estimated damages to be around $7,500.

Cameras on site captured images of several individuals in the area on the night of March 23; one of the individuals was carrying an axe that had been stolen from the excavator.
