Power outages hit Banks region
Around 200 homes in the Banks area were without power as high winds ripped through the area.
Flood Watch, Wind Advisory issued for most of Banks area
The Portland office of the National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for much of Northwest Oregon, including the greater Banks region. The watch is in effect through late Tuesday night. It’s just one weather hazard expected.
Banks School District cancels Friday school day
No school Friday. With Thursday and now Friday off, students will return Tuesday, February 18 after the President’s Day holiday.

Banks School District closes Thursday over winter storm
“All district schools and facilities are closed due to the Winter Weather Warning in Effect for today,” the Banks School District said early Thursday morning.

Banks is under a Winter Weather Advisory, while higher elevations like Timber are under a Winter Storm Warning.
Highway 26 reopens after closure west of Timber near Music Road
Roads throughout the region are icing up, and Highway 26 is closed several miles west of the Timber Junction.
High winds take out power, litter highways with debris
Overnight winds brough trees down on area roads, littering Highways 26 and 6 with debris and taking out power for Portland General Electric and West Oregon Electric Co-op customers throughout the region. Highway 6 remained closed in Tillamook County Thursday morning.
