The driver of a flatbed truck was flown by Life Flight helicopter to a trauma center with serious injuries after emergency crews carried them up the embankment of an irrigation ditch, Forest Grove Fire & Rescue said.

According to the fire agency, fire crews responded to a crash before 3:30 a.m. Saturday to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 47 between Osterman Road and Spreadborough Road.

"When crews arrived, they found a full size truck off the roadway and down in an irrigation ditch," Forest Grove Fire & Rescue (FGF&R) said.

The driver was out of the vehicle when crews arrived, but had to be carried up the embankment to the roadway, FGF&R said.

A Life Flight Network helicopter was dispatched to carry the driver to an area trauma center with serious injuries.

During the rescue, Highway 47 was closed.

Also on scene were crews from Banks Fire District, AMR, the Forest Grove Police, and the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
