January 12, 2026 update: The Jan. 13 hearing has been removed from the court calendar, with a status check hearing scheduled for Jan. 14. This is typically a procedural or scheduling move done for any number of reasons. The Banks Post will update this story when a new date is set.

Wymon Smith, a former Banks High School teacher arrested twice in 2025 on sex abuse charges, is expected in court Jan. 13 for a plea and sentencing hearing.

According to documents obtained by the Banks Post, Wymon Wayne Smith will go before Circuit Court Judge Kathleen Proctor.

Initially arrested Jan. 14 on charges of sexual abuse in the second degree and luring a minor, Wymon Smith, then a Banks High School math teacher and former football coach was arrested again in Yamhill County Thursday, Feb. 6 after additional victims came forward, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.
