The Banks Historical Society has been accepted into the Fred Meyer Community Rewards Program, giving shoppers a way to support the organization at no cost.

Fred Meyer Rewards cardholders can designate the Banks Historical Society as their community rewards recipient. Once enrolled, every purchase made with the rewards card generates a quarterly donation from Fred Meyer to the historical society. Shoppers still keep all their own points and benefits.

“This is a wonderful way to help support the Banks Historical Society’s educational, preservation and community engagement programs by doing something you would be doing anyway, shopping and buying gas,” said Carol Rosenblith, treasurer of the Banks Historical Society. “It costs you nothing, but every small donation makes a big difference to us and our community.”

To enroll, shoppers need a Fred Meyer Rewards card and an online account at fredmeyer.com. After logging in, click the Community Rewards tab on the account dashboard and search for “Banks Historical Society” or enter the nonprofit organization number HU062, then click Enroll.

Fred Meyer maintains a pool of charitable funds and distributes donations to participating nonprofits each quarter based on the percentage of spending by their supporters, according to a press release from the society.

The Banks Historical Society is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization that works to preserve and promote the history of Banks and surrounding communities within the Banks School District. More information is available at bankshistory.org.
