Highway 6, down to one lane since early Wednesday morning after the westbound lane at milepost 35 dropped several inches is expected to be fully reopened by 2 p.m. Wednesday, an ODOT spokesperson said.
Highway 6 is reduced to one lane at milepost 35 according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for what the Oregon Department of Transportation described as a sunken grade.
"How many wrecks and deaths will it take before ODOT gets serious about the dangerous condition of this road," writes Tillamook property owner Ginny Van Loo in a letter to the editor.
The Oregon Department of Transportation is hosting an in-person and an online open house regarding the safety study of the Highway 6 corridor mandated by the Oregon Legislature in 2022.
Highway 6 is closed one mile west of the Highway 47 interchange following a crash, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation's tripcheck.com.

The Tillamook Forest Center is expected to open next year in March. “We are anxious to reopen and host visitors with smiles and an overdue hello,” the center said.
