Area residents can learn how to prepare for emergencies at a Red Cross presentation scheduled for Tuesday, September 24 at the Banks Public Library starting at 7 p.m.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, a national program established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that seeks to train volunteers has come to Banks.
On Wednesday October 4, cell phones, televisions sets, and radios will chime with an alert designed to test the nation's alert system for widespread emergencies.
