Stub Stewart State Park is host to a variety of activities — disc golf, horseback riding, mountain biking, to name a few — and for one night on Saturday, July 15, the park’s Hilltop location will transform into a movie theater for a free showing of Galaxy Quest.

A cleanup event in Buxton will be held Sunday, April 2 to remove invasive species, clear trees and blackberries and pick up trash along one mile of the old railroad tracks that could someday become the Salmonberry Trail.

Every year, the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department joins a nationwide initiative called “First Day Hikes” on New Year’s Day. This year, Stub Stewart State Park is one of 20 state parks with free hikes led by rangers or volunteers.
