Remember last year's excavator chase near Buxton? Well, the same guy was arrested yesterday after leading police on another chase, on foot, this time into a ravine.
A cleanup event in Buxton will be held Sunday, April 2 to remove invasive species, clear trees and blackberries and pick up trash along one mile of the old railroad tracks that could someday become the Salmonberry Trail.
Agency heads, representatives of local governments, interested neighbors, and board members of the Salmonberry Trail Foundation met in Buxton Thursday, Feb. 16 for a Salmonberry Trail Intergovernmental Agency (STIA) meeting, the first of 2023.

Every year, the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department joins a nationwide initiative called “First Day Hikes” on New Year’s Day. This year, Stub Stewart State Park is one of 20 state parks with free hikes led by rangers or volunteers.
A volunteer effort to clean up illegal dumping along Hoffman Road north of Buxton begins Saturday, December 10. “We need more volunteers to help,” said Ashlee Bowers, a Buxton resident who’s leading the volunteer effort in coordination with SOLVE and Weyerhaeuser.
The Banks Fire District will host an open house at the district offices in Banks Saturday, October 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The district also hosted a two-day training exercise in Buxton this week.
