Edit: The highway opened to one lane Sunday evening.
Highway 6 has closed again after a new crack formed in the only lane still in operation near milepost 35.
"Crews have closed the highway in order to address the area," said Oregon Department of Transportation spokesperson Mindy McCartt in an email to the Banks Post.
McCartt said the closure was expected to last most of Sunday, January 4.
The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office gave an eight hour repair estimate around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
"Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. No estimated reopening time beyond the approximate eight-hour window is available at this time," the sheriff's office said.
