The city of Banks has put out their annual call for cash donations to fund the annual Independence Day fireworks show at Sunset Speedway. This year, the United States will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Seeking a grand total of $25,000, the city said Sunset Speedway has already pledged $8,000, leaving $13,000 to go from the greater Banks business community.
"The Annual 4th of July Fireworks Display is a longstanding Banks community tradition that would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors," the city said.
Interested donors can contact the city by phone at 503-324-5112 or by email at cvilar@cityofbanks.org. Sponsor forms are due April 1, and payment is due May 25.
