Homes in Banks, Roy, Mountaindale, Buxton, Timber and more were without power after a Monday night windstorm; Banks crews aided their neighbors to the west after fallen trees blocked emergency access on Highway 26 and more.
The Portland office of the National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for much of Northwest Oregon, including the greater Banks region. The watch is in effect through late Tuesday night. It's just one weather hazard expected.

"January was a shocking month for the city of Banks. The call that has taken over our city is a true tragedy to our community," wrote Deputy Ryan Pope in a report to the Banks City Council.

"All district schools and facilities are closed due to the Winter Weather Warning in Effect for today," the Banks School District said early Thursday morning.
