TIMBER – Newly elected West Oregon Electric Co-op board member Erika Paleck is holding a community meeting with several other officers of the utility cooperative on Tuesday, November 12 in Timber.

The meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Timber Fire Station, is, according to Paleck, an opportunity for “collecting information, concerns, questions as well as education” about WOEC, the utility that serves Timber, parts of Buxton and Manning, the city of Vernonia, rural Yamhill, the Hagg Lake area, and more small communities in rural Washington, Columbia, and Yamhill counties.

“We’re coming to listen and also I hope to be able to inform about how to get assistance from Oregon Energy Fund to help with electric bills, as one example,” Paleck said in an email to the Banks Post.

“While I’m from District 5 [Buxton, Timber], it will of course be open to all WOEC members,” said Paleck.

The Timber Fire Station, one of three stations operated by the Banks Fire District, is located on Cochran Road in Timber.

More about Paleck can be read on the WOEC website at www.westoregon.org/about/board.
