Wildfire prompts level two evacuations at Hagg Lake-area SW Stepien Road
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said that a Level 2 (“BE SET”) evacuation had been issued for anyone living on SW Stepien Road near Hagg Lake after a wildfire sparked in the area.
Man leads deputies on low-speed chase in excavator near Buxton
With deputies walking along behind, a man wanted for stealing a car led a low speed pursuit Sunday in an excavator at a logging site north of Buxton, police say.

Third person in two months dies at Washington County Jail
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office disclosed Thursday evening that a 51-year-old man had died Wednesday evening at the Washington County Jail.
