September 2022 Banks Police Log

As written and presented to the Banks City Council by deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
Good evening, Mayor, Council Members, and all others in attendance, I am Deputy Pope with the September 2022 Banks Police Report. Below are some notable calls for service within the city.

9/14/22- 4:57 AM – See attached flier.

9/20/22 – in the evening before or early morning unknown suspects in an older dark colored Dodge pickup broke thru a gate and cut another fence and attempted to steal a trailer and a side-by-side Utility Vehicle from Sunset Speedway. Something had spooked the unknown suspects and they left without the UTV and have yet to be identified.

9/25/22 – 4:00 PM – a heated verbal domestic was intervened by Deputy Ward before it became something worse. Parties were counseled and separated till they could peacefully work through the issues.

9/25/22 – 10:30 AM – I assisted DHS Child Welfare with an investigation where physical abuse was alleged regarding a parent and their child. The investigation concluded that the parent was not abusing the child and this case was unfounded.

9/29/22 – There was a child sex abuse reported. All details will be with held and the case is still being investigated.

Aside from the mentioned calls Deputy Ward and Myself assisted County deputies on several traffic crashes and priority criminal calls in western Washington County.

School returned and the traffic changes made last year were continued and have gone very smoothly to date. All the new signage and traffic control signs has been installed as well.
This concludes the police report.
