BANKS – The Banks baseball Braves’ 2019 OSAA 4A State Championship title has impacted the city’s economy.
Kent Bond, Braves assistant coach and owner of Hillsboro-based Impact Physical Therapy of Hillsboro, said he expanded his business by opening a satellite office in Banks on Aug. 13, and that he hopes his familiarity with the community through baseball will generate new clients.
“I already feel a strong connection with Banks and its athletic community,” Bond said. “I’m eager to provide them with services that improve people’s lives and help them compete both in sports and in the game of life.”
Last season, Bond treated all-state, all-conference, and all-district Braves players who experienced such injuries as a labral tear, a hamstring strain, a subluxed shoulder, and even sore ankles.
Team pitchers also participated in Impact Physical Therapy’s arm care program, which Bond uses to minimize arm damage, facilitate healing, improve flexibility, and enhance recovery between pitching days, he said.
“Our pitchers threw 3,029 pitches in 30 games this year,” Braves head coach Joe Baumgartner said. “Impact Physical Therapy helped keep our players on the field and allowed them to compete at a high level. Their arm care program facilitated quick recovery and eliminated injuries from our pitching rotation this year.”
Bond’s Banks clinic doesn’t just focus on youth sports and sports rehabilitation. As in Hillsboro, Impact Physical Therapy offers spine care, neck and back health, pre- and post-surgical rehab, active aging, balance and fall prevention.
The Banks clinic, located in the Banks Wellness Center at 13590 NE Main Street, is open Monday- Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
