The numbers are in from the “Scouting for Food” event held March 2 in Banks, and Banks Troop 581 Scoutmaster Cliff Cottam said cubs and scouts collected 564 pounds of food for donation to the Banks Community Food Bank.

Banks School District to hold bond info meeting
The administration and school board from the Banks School District will hold a town hall meeting Thursday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss a bond that will appear on the ballot for district voters in May.
Banks Fire pancake breakfast is March 10
A long-standing community tradition, the Annual Banks Fire Volunteer Community Breakfast will be held Sunday, March 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Banks Fire Station.
‘Scouting for Food’ is March 2
Saturday, February 24, Scouts and Cub Scouts from Troop 581 and Pack 581 will hit the streets of Banks to distribute door hangers and bags. The following Saturday, March 2, they’ll pick those bags up, filled with nonperishable, unexpired foods supplied by the people of Banks for donation to the Banks Community Food Bank.
CERT is back in Banks
After sending a group of volunteers through the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program last year, the Banks Fire District is planning a second class for interested volunteers in the Banks area.

The city’s annual rite of marking a prominent volunteer who’s made a mark in the city of Banks continued this November, this year honoring Clint Jackson, a well-known business owner, volunteer on the city’s Economic Development Commission, recently-elected Banks Fire District board member, and volunteer wrestling coach at the Banks High School, among many other roles.
