Two area CPOs cancel December meetings, one will meet Thursday
Here’s a story about things that are mostly not happening! CPO 14 (Banks, Buxton, Timber, Manning) and CPO 13 (Roy, Gales Creek, Verboort) are off for the holidays in December.
Mountaindale-area residents can enjoy a virtual meeting Thursday, and those interested in an effort to overhaul the half-century old program can attend a Tuesday meeting for more info.
Banks’ Christmas parade returns Saturday Dec. 14 for a sixth year
For the sixth year, the Banks Annual Christmas Light Parade is coming back Saturday, December 14 starting at 6 p.m.
BHS Drama Club Presents ‘The Giver’
About 20 student actors and crew and adult volunteers from the Banks High School Drama Club gathered in the high school cafeteria Saturday, Nov. 30. It was the first dress rehearsal for the club’s performance of “The Giver,” taking place December 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 8 at 2 p.m.
Deadline to enter the Banks Holiday Lighting Contest is today
Today, Wednesday, Dec. 4 is the final day to enter the Banks Chamber of Commerce-sponsored 2024 Holiday Lighting Contest.
Feedback on proposed CPO program changes sought by Washington County
Launched in the 1970s as a way for communities to provide feedback to the county on a community by community basis, largely in regards to Oregon’s land use planning system, the program has grown over the years. Now, the county wants to overhaul the program, and is looking for feedback in a survey and two listening sessions.
CPO 13 October 16 2024 meeting notice
A meeting of the Roy, Gales Creek, and Verboort CPO 13 will be held in Banks October 16 from 6 to 7 p.m. and online. Attendees will hear a presentation on the OSU Extension Service and other community topics.
Banks High School Homecoming Parade is Friday
The Banks High School will hold the annual Homecoming Parade the afternoon of Friday Oct. 4, and the city of Banks is urging parents who pick up students at the elementary school to avoid Trellis Way starting at 2 p.m. near the Banks Elementary School to allow for the short parade to wind its way to the Banks High School.
