District hosts training event at Hornshuh Creek Fire Station in Buxton

The Banks Fire District played host to training at the Hornshuh Creek Fire Station Tuesday and Wednesday, pulling in firefighters from Vernonia, Corbett, and beyond.

Using the facility’s self-contained burn unit, trainers taught a class dubbed “Gunslingers: Hose, Nozzle, Water, and Fire ‘No Truck No Problem,’” aimed at departments without ladder trucks, Banks Fire Public Information Officer Scott Adams said.

“The training we are able to provide at our volunteer department can rival or surpass the training many paid/career departments can muster,” Adams said in a social media post.
