Banks December 2022 Police Log

As presented by deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office serving the city of Banks.

Mental Health Issue – Parents called 911 as they had concerns for the mental well being of their adult son. It was reported that their adult son had been making suicidal statements. The Mental Health Response Team (MHRT) responded and spoke with both the parents and their adult son. MHRT determined that the adult son was in fact having a crisis but was not suicidal. MHRT worked with everyone and set up a safety plan to keep everyone safe. MHRT has followed up with the family a few times since the original incident.

Warrant Service – NW Wilkes St – In the very early morning hours, a deputy was conducting extra patrol in the city. The deputy noticed a male that appeared to be rummaging thru the back of a vehicle parked on the street. The deputy stopped with the male and was able to identify him. The deputy learned the male had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Yamhill County. The male was taken into
custody on the warrant and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was lodged.

Theft – NW Trellis Way – Over the Christmas weekend an unknown suspect(s) stole the community mailbox that is for packages. The suspect(s) also tried to take the other community mailbox that is for regular mail but was unable to get all the bolts removed. USPS was notified of the theft.
