BANKS – In less than two hours on Saturday, April 27, Banks Fire District #13 responded to a large bark dust pile near Highway 26 on Dersham Road, wires down on Highway 47 near the 26 interchange, and a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 26 at Fisher Road, near the Time Gas Station.

Yes, it is a busy day,” read a post from the fire district on their Facebook page.

Multiple agencies responded to a fire that was noted around 2:40 p.m. at Pacific Fiber Products on Vadis Road, which was burning in a pile of wood chips, according to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R).

The fire, which threatened a nearby structure, saw a response from TVF&R, Banks Fire District, Hillsboro Fire Department, Forest Grove Fire & Rescue, and the Cornelius Fire Department.

According to TVF&R, the fire was contained to the bark pile.

Meanwhile, emergency crews from Banks responded to a tree and electric wires down, blocking the northbound lane of Highway 47, just off Highway 26.

Then, reports came in of a crash in Buxton, located near the Time Gas Station at Fisher Road. Units were dispatched at about 4:21 p.m. to the scene. Oregon Department of Transportation traffic cameras at Staley’s Junction showed traffic flowing both ways as of 5 p.m.
