As temperatures heat up, a series of alerts about fire danger and health hazards tied to extreme weather conditions will begin this weekend. Elsewhere, Banks Fire sent a crew to assist at the Mosier Creek Fire in the Columbia River Gorge.

Temperatures are expected to soar into the upper 90’s this weekend, according to the Portland branch of the National Weather Service, and the Oregon Department of Forestry will place much of the region on "High" fire danger beginning Thursday, August 13 at 1 a.m.
