Banks School District cancels most non-essential school activities
Oregonians, businesses, students, and families across the state will begin to see more impacts from the coronavirus pandemic. The most immediate impact for Banks-area families is the cancellation of almost all nonessential school activities within the Banks School District, including outdoor school.

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown took a sudden series of steps Wednesday night to limit the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, including banning gatherings of more than 250 people, and canceling non-essential school activities, such as athletic competitions, field trips, and group parent meetings. The rules will remain in place for four weeks.

New parks fee goes into effect for Banks residents, businesses July 1
The Banks City Council last month established a park services fee to fund maintenance, improvements, and operations for Greenville City Park and Log Cabin Park. Those who use the city's water and are within the city limits or urban growth boundary will see a park services fee tacked on to their water bills starting July 1.
